I love dental hygiene and I love what I do. I particularly enjoy the bonds I create with my patients while providing preventive dental care and assessing their needs.
I used to work at a hospital setting in the laboratory. Don’t get me wrong, I liked it, but I felt like I wanted to do more to help people on a one-to-one basis. My interest in the dental field began when I had an accident as a child. My dentist, who was also my cousin, helped me by fixing my broken lower anterior teeth. I was so amazed at what she had done. From that moment on, I knew I wanted to be in the dental field to help others.
I have been practicing dental hygiene for nine years now and can’t imagine doing anything else. I completed my undergraduate degree at Texas A&M International University. In 2008, I attended dental hygiene school at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, TX.
A Laredo, TX, native, I’m married to a wonderful, hardworking husband and have two children: a daughter and a son. My family and I are huge dog lovers! We have five Rottweilers and two Shih Tzus! We love our fur babies.
I love spending time with family, especially with my kids. One of my hobbies is doing outside activities with my kids. I love running, hiking, bicycle riding, and walking our dogs. I’ve also been a volunteer coach for my daughter’s softball team for the past three years. It’s a lot of fun!
